SEPTEMBER AWARENESS MONTHS
One Month. Four Diagnoses. The Same Financial Blind Spot.
Blood Cancer. Childhood Cancer. Alzheimer's. Chronic Pain. September puts all of them on the calendar — and gives you the most natural opening of the year to talk about living benefits.
Most clients still think of life insurance as something their family collects after they're gone. That belief is the single biggest reason good policies never get written.
September hands you a way around it. Four separate awareness campaigns are running all month, and every one of them describes a situation where a family needs money while the insured is still living.
Three Ways to Use September
1. Lead with the awareness, not the product. "September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month — it made me think about something I should have asked you already." Nobody hangs up on that.
2. Run a policy review on your existing book. Older policies frequently carry no living benefits at all. Clients who bought term in 2014 have no idea what's available in 2026.
3. Ask the caregiver question. "If you were diagnosed tomorrow, who stops working — and for how long?" It reframes the entire sale in one sentence.
